No one can miss seeing the tank while travelling from Tirunelveli to Papansam as itsituated next to the Tirunelveli – Papanasam state highway. The tank receives water from the Canadian channel and attracts a good number of water birds. The tank also harboursseveral aquatic plants like Cyprus, Lilly, Korai grass etc. During summer local people collect Amalaikilangu (CroptocoryneSpiralis) a tuber that used in herbal medicine and is sold for a good price. KaraiyadiMadasamySastha temple located on the bank of this tank attracts lots of devotees during the weekend and thousands of people come to this temple during PanguniUthiram festival.
