Veinthankulam is located next to Tirunelveli new bus station. Earlier the tank was used for irrigation but now the tank used as rain water storage. Desiltation work carried out by local voluntary group with the support of district administration in this tank during the year 2019. Water storage get improved after the desiltation work and local people realised the ground water improvement in their bore wells. This tank attracts large number of birds, the migratory Garganey seen here during winter season. Hundreds of whistling duck, common coot, Black winged stilt are also seen here.
